Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 4:20 pm)
I can't see why it shouldn't be able to run at those specs. The most important thing to Poser has always been Ram and you have that :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
**Thanks Lisbeth! I did wonder. I'm attracted by the fact that the memory issues seem to be "solved", also that rendering appears to be better timed. I've not got Poser on my machine just now - have had a reformat etc., so am slowly getting back to normal (!)

My aspiration: to make a decent Poser Render I'm an Oldie, a goldie, but not a miracle worker :-)
I maxed out 2 Gigs of RAM (2.8MHz CPU, 250G HDs) with the following in a scene:
Sydney
Hires Jessi
Hires Judy
SP3
two DM Mayan pillars
two extra large cloth planes
one IBL
four spotlights
CWShorty's Tamsen tex
AprilYSH's Jocosa tex
No stranded hair, no clothes, four sword props.
I started getting "You are running out of memory" messages. However, I added Miki without any problems. Haven't gotten past that step yet, but the "out of memory" messages have not appeared since I shut down P7 and restarted it the next day with my scene.
**Just one more question ........ (I am v indecisive at the best of times!); is a P7 full product better than P6/7 upgrade (with this I would save some money as I already have P6).

The only difference between buying the full price Poser 7 and getting the upgrade is the price.
This isn't like a software upgrade, but a reduced price for previous customers upgrade.

If you're joking that's just cruel, but if you're being sarcastic, that's even worse.
thanks! will go away and have another think (and examine my finances!!! lol). I'd like to try P7, just to see what's what, but at least I've got P6/P5 to revert to if I don't want to use it all the time.

**Hi Everyone
I know I haven't "Poser-ed" for a while (RL kind of gets in the way sometimes). Anyway, I've read lots of posts pro-con P7 and wouldn't mind a bit of advice.
First off, my machine specs:
1.3 AMD processor
1 Gb Ram
30Gb internal HDD; 160 external HDD drive (I've put all my runtimes on that and other Poser stuff)
NVidia GeForce FX5200 Graphics Card (this is only 5 months old)
Would P7 run on my 3 year old machine? Don't want to shell out good cash for a program which decimates my machine.
Thanks for any help ..........
