Well ..from a maybe potential other vendor ...
I think you should go where you find you need to go..
One thing you can be sure of is that V3 is gonna lose customers ..not now directly but in the end she will be overtaken bij V4 etc...
So sticking with her for now can be a good option if you have thing to make or rebuild etc..
But for new projects i think its smart to go with V4.. she does not have much now but wait till 2007 and you will see loads of stuff for her..
AND when you make your own things ..Make em for V3 and V4 .and put em in one package..
Sure your customers will love you for that...
Asking what they want or dont want ... thats not working .. because all the Pro and contra's.
I have seen "hate" ,ail because people spent $1000 on V3 and are mad it wont fit V4...
Thats like i spent $1000 on VHS video movie's and now my damn DVD player wont play em..
So i hate DVD .....
well DVD won the race afterall ..and so will V4.

Personally, I'll still be using V3 for the foreseeable future, it's not a preference thing, merely a financial thing!
I'm maxed out on buying Vue6Inf, Poser7 etc. and buying another figure I don't actually NEED right now would be a waste. Any customer artwork I do can still be done just as well with V3 [for now ;-)]

I have both V3 and V4 and I agree with BAR-CODE that V3 will start losing users as more and more stuff comes out for V4. I still make things for both but I'm moving over to V4 exclusively because of the lack of content for her. Gotta love being in at the beginning of something. I'm in the process of making MAT pose files for some textures for V4's new Morphing Fantasy Collar.

Remember, sometimes the dragon wins. Correction: MOST times.
i won't say do v3 or v4.right now there are a lot more things(characters, clothes etc.) for v3 that were practically non exsistent say a year ago as i began to learn 3d. at the present pace as g4 figures are released 6 months or more from now v3 will become rarer to find. but just as with v2 or m2 still some thing people will work with.at the moment it seems v3 may be at the pinnacle of her career.i think it would be safe to continue working with her .but still keep future gen 4 characters in mind.
I would think from a commercial stance, that support for V3 will diminish. I love V3 and have lots of content, BUT v4 is what I am mainly working with now (much better figure) and while I'll keep using V3, I will not purchase anything for V3, it's pointless from a future point of view IMO.

Greetings,
First let me say that I'm not particulary interested in starting any sort of V3 vrs V4 flame war, I don't even own V4 yet so I have no idea what sort of capabilities or features it might have, I'm sticking with V3 for a variety of reasons at this point, primarily because I have quite a bit of custom stuff (clothes and characters) I've done specifically for V3 and I'm not yet at a point where I could stop and convert these to a new character.
So my question is relatively simple, Is there still a strong market for V3 items? From a potential vendors viewpoint, if new V3 items are released today would you, as a consumer, purchase them or would you be more tempted to wait for something similar to be released for V4?
This is solely a matter of opinion, naturally, but I'm interested in people's views on this, particularly those who own both V3 and V4.
