Thank you templargfx. I've used your materials before and they are great. This one has more in it the the one I had gotten before.
Here's a few cars I used your mats on...

Thanks. I don't think I would have gotten the look I wanted on the cars without your mats.
I haven't checked out all the new ones but did you have a meterials for a good car headlight glass and tail light lens?
I love rendering cars, and I love a challange in the material room. it was great fun creating these, and I am proud of my little freebie. Its good to see other people enjoying it too.
my intention was to try and get people to try rendering things other than naked chicks in poser LOL (not that there is anything wrong with naked women)
To above.
brake light and Indicate plastic covers are in there. for the most part I use the standard glass for the headlights. sometimes I add some refraction in depending on the size and shape

Oh, I see there is the color for the lights but I was referring to a materials that would make it look like the glass as in the image above.
what you see there is a dome of plastic that is smooth on the outside, but ridged on the inside giving that pattern look.
that it something that would look best if modelled, but I might give it a go tonight, and see if I can come up with something at least similar in appearance using nodes (the tile node x 3 should work....)

OK, that's cool. Theres a challenge for you. I haven't seen anyone do something that looks right as of yet.
OK, here is another one that I used your car materials on. Just posted this one in the Poser gallery this morning.
the site has unlimited bandwidth usage, but a maximum connection amount. and that site is hit quite frequently for the oblivion stuff. I am trying to get a secondary backup location atm.
to above, that batmobile is sweet! nice rendering there, I wasnt sure if you used these mats on it or not, it sure looks sweet!

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity
Yeah, well.......
as The Rolling Stones once said....
"You can't always get what you want..."
(Couldn't resist....)
BTW. I absolutely love these materials! They have inspired me to experiment with my own take on car paints.....
"Painted Skulls"
(the scene they're set in is your car rendering set-up as well.)
(Oops. Edited to add nudity flag)
<-insert words of wisdom here->
LOL, there are quite a few renders out there using the chameleon materials as skin suits!
I really like the Skulls image, did you create the materials yourself, or are they from this pack?
I dont wanna sound vain, but if you use these in a render, could you mention so? help to spread the word that these are available again. I get a pitiful amount of hits on my gallery items, but alot of you guys/girls are quite popular. (this is in no way a poke at anyone in particular, just a request)

I created the skull materials from tutorials here and at RDNA. I was actually considering packaging them up as a freebie just before yours originally came out. I've got a dozen or so of the paint materials and a few odds and ends.....
I tend to spend more time playing in the material room than I do actually rendering anything!

I thought they might be your own, which Is why I asked, before commenting on your image (so i dont look like a fool!)
as I said, it wasnt meant to be directed at you, but just a general request. my last 3 images have had a total viewing of around 500 views, and comments ranging in the 10-15 mark (for all 3). Renderosities Poser community still seems to be more based on who knows you than how good or bad for your is. So many sub-standard (comparing to other works here) get all the hits, all the rating and all the comments, while other artists, who create fantastic work (better than I could hope to create) get left in the dark. but thats a different topic, and one heavily trampled.
great work!

Okay, here's my first render. [![Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting](http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j252/BastBlack/Art/bB_motorcycletest1.jpg)](http://photobucket.com/) Materials used are: Electric Sea for the Body (with texture map), Silver for all metal, tire shine, and purple plastic for the seat and pads. I ran into some problems with the render. I don't know what those black spots are or how to get rid of them. The other problem was Poser 6 won't save the image. I had to do a screen capture! I don't have an enviroment yet. I think that's how the really nice car renders are done, -- you have to have a surfaces for the paint to reflect. Anyhoo, I'm all ears for any suggestions. ^^ bBfor the black spots, this is caused by the crappy way firefly does ray-tracing.
this is both effected by the smoothing of polygons and the quality setting on the material.
Mostly the Smoothing of polygons.
turn of "smoothing" under the bike object properties, and see how that effects it. if that doesnt work or doesnt completely fix it, go into the material, and try playing with the quality setting under the reflect node.
for a simple reflect environment that can look quite nice, set your background to black, then add a cloth plain with a scale of around the 3000 mark make it a dark greyish color or some type of flooring. add a sphere primitive to the scene, scale the z axis to about 500 and the x axis to around the 150-200 mark. scale y to about 25.
set the ambient color of this ball to white, and amient value to 1.
position the ball above the bike but out of view of your render.
this should give you a very nice basic "car render" reflection.

I LOVE this pack. Thanks again for them!Quote - my intention was to try and get people to try rendering things other than naked chicks in poser LOL (not that there is anything wrong with naked women)
Here's a pic where I used the chameleon paint. It's a Poser chick, but she's not nekkid. Hehe. :P

Here's a render from me.
My machine doesn't like Firefly so had to render twice (once without the figures).
Can't really appreciate the chameleon paint at this distance but it's way better than any texture map.
(and not a tit or bum to be seen anywhere!)

I have uploaded my car materials pack to my long time free web server (been up for 4 years). The only problem with this site is that I cannot link directly to files. The attached link will take you to my homepage (rather simple) just click the link in the poser section.
I will get Rendo Staff to fix the link in the freebie section for me in the meantime
