Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 08 12:39 am)
Hmm the only cras-to-desktop I've had was in exactely the Hair Room. Trying to "Show Populated"
But I haven't been able to replicate it, and that makes it hard to fix, I guess. Lowering the number of undos seems to have made Poser 7 more stable for some people. I lowerd mine to 50 right from the beginning and haven't had much problems so far.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
I never used the Hair Room in P6 cause it was just too slow. Yesterday I tried it in P7 and had 16,000+ hairs in Show Populated mode and could still move the head around easily.
Haven't had a crash, lockup or other problem of note with two minor exceptions:
Once the ENTER key would no longer start and stop playback of a 450 frame animation and
on frame 1 of the animation, an item I had keyframed invisible, would not toggle back to visible with the mouse, but Undo worked. I see there is also a Visibility Parameter Dial, so I could have probably used that as well.
I set my Undo's to 32 because I can't see ever needing more than that before I've saved my work anyway.

so far, I have managed to get poser to render a scene with just over 300,000 hairs!
I never use the "show populated" button, i dont see the use of it, the hair when rendered has thickness, which is not displayed by "how populated" and so doesnt give a true representation of hair coverage. but thats just me.
I have noticed hair in P7 seems to be alot more twitchy which higher position force settings, as well as spring force. dont know why...
dont even get me started on other P7 issues. if it continues the way it is, Im going back to P6 LOL

This is infuriating - 3 times over 3 days random operation in manipulating a hair group in the hair-room in P7 crash to desktop.
Any similar experience?
I hope eFrontier takes notice.
