Subject: Sorry, I don't understand html, am dyslexic and now my rendo link is broken!

Lyne ( ) posted Sat, 06 January 2007 at 12:06 AM · edited Wed, 05 February 2025 at 10:01 AM

I got that e mail notice too.... and so I thought I better TRY...

I inserted the pic of my choice...then clicked it and added the LOOONG html code you tell me I have to...and now it's broken:

http://www.lynescreations.com/  (bottom of page)... who helps me? the code is there...and I am sure the code is NOT to DRAW from the picture HERE...

You know, my old "link ring" did not work for it's picture either, so I put a pic from rendo (by the way, why do we have to be limited to these rather ugly pictures and not the pretty logo here???)  and the link ring words UNDER it...and somehow ALL THESE YEARS it worked... of course it was "just" a link ring and not a refferal thingy...

I don't understand...where am I to put the code? Do I just stick the picture on the page, (I am using Front Page 2002) and then go into it's html mode and just slap the code you want me to in and hope it works??? I bet someone who can "view source" can check for me on my page..

Sorry, but I don't get it and the old one came right "here" fine... and I was also told when this link share started and I clicked on your page that my link was fine?!??!  (my old one)....

CONFUSED AND IN NEED OF HELP !!!  I do want to get it right.

Lyne

here is the code I put ON THE JPG, as though the picture itself is the "hot link".... and if I click I get a page not found.  :(

go to Renderosity.com

EDIT...hey... I thought to TRY and figure it out, so I can get it done and on to other things, so I clicked one of your SPECIAL LIST to the right in your link share... one did not even have the new code on her page....yet her site is on the special referral list??? Another seemed to have the code but looked like he knows html and FIXED yours... I am stumped! :(

huh...just clicked a few more...on YOUR list....and more old ring site stuff that comes HERE fine...so now I wonder if WE are to change OUR CODE and then YOUR SITE has to do something so it actually works??

I checked RDNA's page and I CAN'T EVEN FIND the RMP pic and link at all!!

At the very least I could put the simple line with my member ID like those folks and mine would work again???

Okay... I will go away and wait for a code writer to help.  :/

PS... Your code DOES say the image source is HERE...that I can see and does not make any sense...my image is on my web server/site...why is your code making my index page try and find the image here?? argh!

WAIT...did I do it right?? Will this pass muster? It comes here now...and the other strange code IS on my page, I inserted the code where my cursor was blinking by the image...and I just made the pic the short member number link... so is it right?

I really don't want to wait a couple of weeks and find out it is wrong... I don't understand this referral thing...I can only hope my persistance paid off...

Hi..don't understand this html stuff...but besides the picture from rosity with what I figured would work, I did take the simple "text line" (from your IM) from the bottom of the link share page, put my cursor on my Front Page WYSIWYG page...then clicked it's html view...and pasted...when I came back to the "normal view" of what you see....etc... I SAW the "Renderosity.com" AS A LINK below the pic!!! Then I tested and it came flying here!! :)) YEAAA! Now both ways work, and that text part is probably the thing I need for my own site links HERE to be accepted!! Whew!  :)

Sorry for asking but I've also followed the steps on the linkshare description site.
I've have copied the code below one of the linkshare grafics and paste this code on my website.

In my case the Url end with "?ReferMember=6855"

But what should happen if a visitor clicks on the grafic at my homepage?
When I do this the Renderosity HP opens with the page "Site annoncements", "AOM", ...

Is this alright or have I missed something?

Ok. Thank you for that answer.

One more question:
The Renderosity Linkshare list at the right frame - is this a fixed list or do it depends on the number of refereals?

It goes by referals and your rank in the list. The more traffic you send to us the higher up the list you get. Hope this helps.
