Subject: Looking for a model of an Aircraft Hanger

templargfx ( ) posted Sat, 06 January 2007 at 7:28 PM · edited Thu, 21 November 2024 at 5:55 AM

Hi everyone, I've searched and I've searched, but with no luck.

I am looking for a highly detailed model of an aircraft hanger, preferably from WW2 era, although at the moment I will take any hanger! LOL

anyone seen any? I have a low detail one, but I need one that renders realisticly, otherwise my current scene is just not going to look right!

thanks in advance

Baumgarten have a hanger in the archives, if you don't find anything else.

There is one right here in the Market Place. Looks rather nice.

3DmodelZ used to have a nice hanger with good interior accessories (ie. 50 gal drums, crates, mechanics pit).   I don't recall if it was a freebie or forsale.  Unfortunately, I don't see it here anymore.  I think it was one Andi3D created?

ialora is right, we did. It was one that Paul made (The-Slinger). As far as I'm aware, it's not for sale anymore. Of course, there is a hanger in my military installation pack, but as it's a MP item, I don't think I can put a link  ;-)

Oh!  I finally found the nifty hanger that I was refering to.  Posable doors and overhead hoist too.  Too bad it's no longer forsale.  Here's a render of it though.  You might check out some of the items from Ed Baumgarten.  I've used his quanset hut model in an old airport scene before.

The Hanger by TheSlinger is still available at 3dcommune, I picked it up back in 2005 but it's still there.   I would put a link but to be honest I have no clue if that's cool anymore.  Just go to 3dcommune and search for hanger.  It's actually pretty nice, though I do remember having to tweak it so that the floor didn't have the service pit.

Posting links to online stores is considered promotional.  You can post links to stores in the Product Showcase forum though.  See link to PS forum in the header.   I'm glad to hear that the hanger is still available.  I highly recommend it. :)
