Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 03 1:41 pm)
The thing with that is I don't think people would be looking at it. The answers are all readily available just by searching the forum, but while some will try and search for the answer, most will create a new thread to ask the question.
Besides, there are so many questions that can be asked about Poser, not to mention the idiocincrities of each version, that it would be impossible to include them all, or anticipate them all into a FAQ.
It's not a task that I would willingly take on myself. However Anniebel, if you want to try putting something together in a thread, I can present it to the admins and see what they think.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
Quote - Ummm... there's already a FAQ right undr the words Welcome to the Poser Forum and the list of Moderator names.....
Yes I know, but as my example showed, I was suggesting more along the lines of helpful threads
Re. Searching - the search funtion is very limited, as I already stated. I very rarely find what I want, & I always search first. Much too many threads to sift through.

Using the forum search is how I find all of the thread links and answers that I post.
I use a combination of key subject word, dates and sometimes member name if I happen to remember that a particular person posted about that topic using that key word.
I find that when I use all 3 of those the search is pretty refined and I've yet to not be able to find something. Now, of course someone who has a life and doesn't spend 24/7 on the forums wouldn't know a particular user name, but by using a key search word combined with a date reference of perhaps "older than 1 day and newer than 1 year" would certainly bring up potential threads.
Yes, sometimes I have to browse at the subject titles and the first lines showing, of a couple hundred posts, but it doesn't really take that long and it usually pays off.
Anyway, if you want to start a thread/FAQ for this, I'm sure there will be people that would contribute to it and help keep it up. But it's too massive of a task for one person to take on and keep up for all the reasons that I previously posted.

Just thought it might be helpful to have a forum FAQs - i.e. a sticky with links to threads with helpful explanations etc.
For Example....
P6 & Backgrounds
Why when I render in Poser 6 (firefly) against an imported background image the background image does not render full size but appears to shrink so that I end up with a background smaller than the foreground scene? - Thread Link
I have been trying to find an answer to a specific question in another forum, which made me think this would be a good idea. I know there is the forum search, but it is very inadequate, often it take muliple tries to try & sift through the hits to try & find what you want, especially if you are not searching for the 'right' word or phrase - no wonder people ask before searching.
I was also thinking of Acadia, maybe she could add links to her compliation threads as well.
Anyway, just a suggestion
