Subject: G2/DAZ unimesh - opinion and help with faces

twitchew ( ) posted Mon, 15 January 2007 at 12:55 PM · edited Wed, 06 November 2024 at 12:09 AM

I just got the p7 update and have been just starting out with the G2 males.
They am looking at doing a fitness project and really wnat something other than the dork blank expression.  I REALLY want the scrunched up faces that you really see in the gym (gritted teeth curled lips and scruched eyes/nose.)

I just cant seem to find anything like that for David/M3/Freak - it all looks like they are on drugs or a refugee from veggie tales (tm) - nothing seems to look good to me in the market place...

and the G2 figures seem to offer it but you have to dink around with each of them being unique.

am I missing something? Can only victoria show determination?

PS - I have the d3 bodybuilder but the faces are again lacking ...

Do you have the head morphs for M3/D3?  If not, you'll need those to modify the faces to get what you want.

Frankly, I prefer the DAZ men to the G2 men for the flexibility in morphing.  Of course, that's just MVHO ... lol

Thanks, i do have the morph packs for faces and of course suffer from dial overload on occasion.
btw - is / will there ever be a face room for the daz figs?

It's doubtful we'll ever see faceroom compatibility for the DAZ figures unless DAZ eventually buys Poser.  Right now it's only for the native e-Frontier figures and still doesn't work that well.  I gave up on it a long time ago.

If the G2 faces will do what you want have a look at the Body Morph Pack, for Kelvin, at runtimedna.com.  I'm not sure which G2 figure you're really interested in, but I hear the Body morphs of the G2 figures are all compatible to a degree.

I would'nt say never...Daz3D used to make the Poser figures!  They've since stopped working for "Poser," but still make the best Figure Content ever.  Somebody at E-Frontier will eventually get tired of all his/her friends being fired, because Daz3D is out of reach.

I've heard the offer to contract Singular Inversions(The people the Face Room is...leased...from) to adapt the Mil' figures, is on the table, but that this is something Daz3D has'nt  paid to lease.

All the G2 males share bodies. So their body morphs are indeed interchangeable. Unlike the heads where only Simon and James share head morphs.

Personally I prefer the G2 male expressions to the Daz characters (and people who know me also know that I love the Daz males as well) It's like the G2 males use the WHOLE face for expressions (like a real human) while the Daz people are too split up, eyes, nose, mouth, brows.. and it's very hard to make it look as natural as you can do with some of the G2's and a single dial.

I wouldn't hold my breath for Face Room support for Daz figures. Not even all CP figures has it coughKoji1cough

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

thanks, trekkie. this is the sort of looked like what I was seeing as well. the unimesh figs couldn't really distort their faces as much as i think is called for. the available morphs just may no premit this and the wierd combos let me make a great many unnatural faces quite easily...

i have sent you email since chat is not available. i woudl like to ask you some questions off line.
