Looking towards Australia Day 2007 - and to compliment wheatpenny's creations these flags represent what may have been and what could be.

I have included 3 flags:

The Eureka Flag, and 2 Concept Flags designed for the Australian flag competition in 1998

You may grab them in my downloads section if you are a member of  Elysium - Posin' Down Under
elysium-pda.scm-rpg.com.au

or by using the direct link
elysium-pda.scm-rpg.com.au/public/download/tastiger_flags.zip

Would be nice to get a few more members from down under though to liven the site up a bit.

Thank you. Those are great!

When is Australian Day?

Thanks :)  I downloaded them and really like them alot!

I created MAT Pose files for these and for Wheatpenny's flags. If anyone wants those let me know and I'll zip them up.  I know not everyone is gung ho about the material room. I know I wasn't until I was given a personal tour of it and now it's probably my favourite room next to the cloth one.

Thanks Acadia - glad you like them - one reason I didn't make MAT files is that I found with experimentation you can get some good effects on the flags in the material room and I thought I would let those with different versions experiment with their own settings.

I found if you apply a white cloth shader node with the texture attached on both the "cloth" and "material" zones gives a good effect..

No problems - here is just a quick starter using a cloth shader - this perhaps isn't the best example but somewhere to start with and then to go on and tweak.... or try different materials as the base...

Thak you! I had a whole differnt set up in my head from your description. I'm glad I asked about a screenshot.  I plan on doing some flag renders for my Aussie friends in my MSN graphic group, so the tip on the shader is a good one. Thanks for that and the great flags.

I want to try and make a texture for the Canadian flag. Can I holler at you if I can't get it done myself?  LOL

Acadia - no problems - just yell out ...

wheatpenny - there are normally lots of functions / picnics going on throughout the day dependimg on where you live - otherwise we just normally celebrate the Aussie way - a BBQ, few cold ones, and some good music!

IOW, like the fourth of July in the US.
Of course the BBq is out being as it's the middle of winter here. So I'll just have to get some Aussie beer (but not Fosters).

I can recommend Tooheys as a good drop of you can get hold of it.........(NSW Brew)

Failing that look for James Boags or Cascade. (Both Tasmanian Brews)

Not really a flag person myself but, while you're at it don't forget the TI flag if you want to cover all bases.
