Subject: Poser 7 Problem

White Raven ( ) posted Mon, 15 January 2007 at 10:50 PM · edited Tue, 05 November 2024 at 3:59 PM

Whenever I try and render in Poser 7, it locks up. It's also started crashing to the desktop as I work - has anyone else had these Poser symptoms and fixed them? I have an AMD 3gig with 1 gig memory, so RAM shouldn't be the problem.

Thanks in advance,
White Raven

Have you set the renderer to work as a separate process? And if so, do you possibly have a firewall that may be blocking it? (It uses some ports to communicate with Poser, and some firewalls interprete it as if the program is trying to access the internet, and shuts if off)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Thanks, TrekkieGrrrl, but how do I set the renderer up, please? Sorry for the silly question, but it's kind of confusing.

 Thanks again,
 White Raven

Edit -> General Preferences -> Render.

There's a slider where you can set number of threads. Try setting it to 2 or even 4, even if you do not have a dual processor computer. And check the box "Separate Process"
See if it helps any :o)
