Subject: OT: Need help! UTC cannot find TABCTL23.OCX...

diolma ( ) posted Tue, 23 January 2007 at 12:01 PM · edited Tue, 23 July 2024 at 12:11 AM

Today, for the 1st time since I migrated to a new PC (over a year ago), I tried to use 3D Universe's Universal Texture Converter, and got an error message indicating it could not find TABCTL32.OCX.

I know what this is, and I have an idea of how to instal it, but am leery of going anywhere the registry edit stuff.
Somehow I obviously omitted to copy something from the old PC and it's far too late now - the old PC has been re-formatted.
Win2K was re-installed on the new machine, not copied (seemed safer).

However, I never experienced any problems like this on the old machine, so I am assuming that if I re-instal the UTC, then everything will work. The problem is that I can't remember what DAZ called the file when I originally downloaded the UTC. I'm hoping I have it stashed away somewhere, but there a lot of files to check...

So, can any kind person provide me with the name of the file that you get when you download it from DAZ?

TIA and,
Cheers,
Diolma

According to the info on the site, it should be something like 'Universal texture convertor ps_ap037b'.
Probably an '.exe' file.
I don't have it, so I don't know exactly what the file name is.
You could try searching for that. If not, I hear DAZ is pretty good at resetting downloads in cases such as this.

Many thanks! Found it!

Now to see if re-installing it works..

Yup! It DID! UTC now opens!

Thanks again all, and
Cheers,
