I haven't been to Renderosity for awhile, but had a question about wolfpak359. I have about 25 Vue photos up in the gallery, and he rated about 6 of them back in March. Not that I care much about people rating my pictures, it's just the way he did it. I had about 6 picutures that had ratings of all"10's", he went ONLY into these pictures and rated all of them 6,7, or 8. He didn't leave a comment, just the lower rating to make sure I didn't have any photos that were all 10's. I view this as rude. Why only rate my "10" pictures, not comment, and bring the ratings down on them? Like I said, I'm not hung up on the ratings thing, it's just the way in which it was done (on purpose, with no constructive critism, just to bring down the picture's score). While my photos may not actually be "10's", why single them out just to bring the score down? Just wondering if this happened to anyone else? I was just wanting to vent, maybe I just took this the wrong way? Thanks, Tidalwdave

Hi Tidalwave, There have been other people doing such things, mostly in the Poser gallery. People started complaining, which is why they put back the ability to see who had posted what ratings. If you would like, I can delete the lower ratings, especially in the light that he left no comments. --Mike

Just one of the reasons why I don't allow ratings on my images anymore! However, I DID get hung up on the rating sometimes and took constructive criticism personally (I'm a real sensitive gal) even tho I knew it wasn't personal. But I've gotten a little used to it...people's comments are enough and I don't need to get a "10" just to validate my own work. But I can see where you are coming from...some folks are just in it for the put-down and that's so unfortunate. These graphics communities are like big families to me, and I guess you'll have the errant sibling who just loves to make trouble every now and then. Maybe they didn't have coffee that morning, who know's? But that was just one of the reasons that I don't put ratings on my things...it's not worth the personal afront when someone just wants to be over-critical...or do something stupid like intentionally screw up the ratings. On a lighter note Tidalwave, I don't recall any images that you've done (even tho I'm sure I've seen them) and now I'll have to go back and look again :D Laurie

I can certainly see why your are upset about this Tidalwdave. Personally I wouldn't mind if someone done the same to me...AS LONG as they add comments as to why they have marked it so. As it is, try not to worry about it to much; your art is indeed excellent as anyone can see, but at the end of the day you always get the jealous assholes (can I say that Mike?). martin

Sure martin, you can say that if you wish. I would've, but, you know... ;) Laurie, run a search in the Vue gallery for TIDALWDAVE (It's not tidalwave-- I screwed up)--- he's got some VERY good pictures there! I found two of the offending, rating-lowering posts and deleted them both, but I didn't have time to continue searching. As for the ratings in general, I usually enable ratings, mostly out of curiosity as to what people think. Can't let it get to you though, and it's all subjective. Here's an OT example: I absolutely DESPISE everything on the Hardee's fast food menu, but I love McDonald's. Go figure. In any event, if the ratings I were to give to Hardee's were to be taken seriosly, they'd have been out of business YEARS ago...... Hmmm..does anyone have a Hardee's "Frisco burger" available as a .VOB? I have a .3DS trash can, but nothing to fill it with. ;)

Thanks for the kind comments. I wish I had the time to visit this place more often and to have more fun with Vue, but life just gets busy sometimes. I do poke in and check out the Vue Gallery, I love seeing everyone's hard work. Thanks for deleting the low ratings Mike, not too important to me, but it's nice to know you go out of your way to make this a better run site than any others I've seen, making members feel at home :) But, for the record, I like Wendy's the best!
