In making the Redrope series, I've been asked how the rope is made. I've done it with lattices, torii and cylinders, metaballs, modeled meshes and the most common- I just drew it in post production. This method works great for power cords on lamps and stuff.

Thank you so much for the mini-tut, Mr Frogdot.  I shall not require a red rope license because I don't have the time or money to string it through all parts of the world and universe necessary to use it.   That is your domain.
