There is a collection of terrain mats called 'SERIOUSLY REAL' by  Jonathan Allen. I'm not sure if they are in the Freebies section or at DAZ3d.
I've used them in a couple of unpublished pieces and they are amazing.......

Agent Smith;

I want to be able to do a 'what if' scene. for example, a flooded grand canyon, or ayers rock under snow!

Any format that could be imported into bryce would do.

Ayers Rock and Bryce Canyon along with thousands of other REAL WORLD DEMs are available in  Vistapro.  You could also visit the US Geological Survey website and get any part of the USA you desire. You might even get the bit that contains Crawford Ranch........and flood it!
