Photoshop F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 14 1:57 am)
Our mission is to provide an open community and unique environment where anyone interested in learning more about Adobe Photoshop can share their experience and knowledge, post their work for review and critique by their peers, and learn new techniques while developing the skills that allow each individual to realize their own unique artistic vision. We do not limit this forum to any style of work, and we strongly encourage people of all levels and interests to participate.
Checkout the Renderosity MarketPlace - Your source for digital art content!
Paint your white and black lines on new Layers in your Layers Palette and you are then applying the lighting effects/Filter to those Layers - which will then be put in Overlay Mode to create the shadow/highlight effects of a bump map on the colors of the image below (shoes, old man's face - whatever).
Hope that helps - lemme know if you hit another roadblock-

Ok coming from poser forum directed here.
I followed this tutorial to the T yesterday.
http://www.michaeldashow.com/tips_bumpmaps.html
Now something has changed in my photoshop settings that's really messing me up.
1 when I get the part for copy channel and create a "bump" channel. I get an overlay color of whatever channel I copied rather than the no change I got originally following the tut.
2. When I go to lighting effects for the bump channel I have an option of applying the effects to layer two transparency layer.
When I originally followed the tut - that was not there - there was only red blue green or bump.
Did I give enough information?
Does anyone know what settings I have wrong?
