Have one object in a scene shaded and another in wire-frame? Regardless of how many separate objects I have in a scene, when I select and change the view type to wire for example, all the objects in the scene change to that. Tried everything I can think of but nothing seems to work. Is it possible?

Is it the button by the object/edit mode you changed?  If so no wonder if it doesn't work.

You gotta get to the material settings and choose wire under the links and pipeline window.
