Subject: What REALLY might help with STOLEN image problem! :)

Lyne ( ) posted Mon, 12 March 2007 at 4:51 PM · edited Mon, 26 August 2024 at 10:56 PM

Here is what might REALLY help!! Write to the e mails at the ISP's that NOTICE: ARE

NOT BASED IN RUSSIA! Send the link to your image (click to get large copy) and if

you want, send the link to your rosity gallery for proof of your ownership. I am going

to do that.

If we all do this, it may actually help!!!

Hi Lyne, Well, The next step when you cant contact the actual site owner is to

contact the ISP that is hosting the site. The ISP will generaly contact the site owner

or bring the site down if enough requests are sent to them about the site illegally

displaying copyrighted works.

I checked on this site and found that the ISP hosting the site appears to be as

follows:

Thanks Lyne! I didn't know they had another of mine there. That one really irks me. I'll send an email to both places. Surely one of them will get through to the right people.

I got a trouble ticket from this e mail!!... so don't give up... send lots of e mails with the links to the large copy of your image and complain!! I got:

"RIPE NCC Operations" ops@ripe.net

Greetings,

This message has been automatically generated in response to the
creation
of a ticket regarding:

"Web site traced back to you is hosting illegal copies of art!"

Maybe in some small way we can make a difference! Especially important for those of us making money from our art!

Fantastic news Lyne! Let's hope, with the originators speaking up, that they will decide to shut the site down. I'm sure they don't want all these angry artist yelling at them!

Lyne ( ) posted Wed, 14 March 2007 at 5:04 PM

reclicked my image link and now it's a "re-direct" so fast I can't copy it, but goes to a

DIFFERENT SITE with a photo of potatoes!! ?!?!  So is my art image still at that other

site but hidden or removed? Is this their way of removing the art?? Curious!

Not sure Lyne but they may have a way of redirecting certain ips and not tohers.  So they probly been watching and got your ip and others who have a complient.
These people you are dealing wtih are very smart and computer savy.   I think you are fighting a loosing battle and I know you don't want to hear that.      Its same as seeing your models on p2p and news groups. :)
