new SSS technique for all to play with! parts of it have been featured on blendernation! while sort of inconvenient, this technique produces much more physicaly correct results than does shadowbuffer or any other technique i have tried. i have played around with it enough to add my own setup including forward scattering. hopefully it will also be included in the render node if created.
