Methastopholis ( ) posted Sat, 24 March 2007 at 10:28 AM · edited Fri, 31 January 2025 at 9:01 PM

Hello folks

Im useing Metaform  1.02 .i havent used it since Poser 5  and then i was still a noob.
Ok so  there's not to many Tut's out there for 1.02 or presets. So i was wondering if some one could help me with the setting"s that i need to acheive the effect's that i want..  I want  the plane to look like its going down, but the flames just looks like  a BBQ on top of ithe plane. How do i  get the  wind effect to the flames to make it look real. Here a picture of the settings i have know. Its the basic IMMolation 101  setting's.

So am i evan useing the right presets or should i be useing some other emmitter or  tecnique Or Does the Map Aligner have something to do with  the way the flames flow.  Or can i tweak the setting already established  to get  the right look? I really  dont

Any  and all  Advice is appreciated that sticks to the topic..

I believe I got Metaforms also, but I just couldn't wrap my mind around it. I'd be interested in any tutorials also.

MetaForm can add an "environment prop" to the scene, which looks like a weather vane. It should be at the bottom of the panel. It has parameters for wind speed and the direction can be set by rotating it. You can also turn the gravity off if you don't want the fire to be rising vertically.

The other method of doing this is to move the plane between the first and last (rendered) frame. Both methods probably require increasing the particle rate.

The latest version BTW is v1.11 which you should be able to get from your account page at DAZ.

Do you know if this version works in P7?

No it won't work in P7.
The version of Python changed between P6 and P7 (from 2.2 to 2.4) and as this has native code it's not compatible with the newer version of Python.

Yes, and while the author told me there was a newer version, it was never made available.  I want to say that the compatibility was fixed, but I don't recall for sure and it doesn't matter if you can't get it anyway.  Sales apparently were not nearly what was expected and it seems they have since moved on from it.
