Suggestion Box F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 06 12:26 am)
This forum is designed for suggestions from the community on how you feel we can improve Renderosity.
Interesting Idea, but it could also easily degrade into flaming matches that are on many other forums. That is, a friendly back and forth can just as well become an abusive argument done just for the sake of arguing. Who wants to have to police that kind of thing?
As it stands now everyone has one chance to say their peace and pick it up with private messages should they so choose. It has limitations but advantages as well.
The strong do as they can while the weak do as they must.
it seems that they only have flame wars at sites with crazy, abusive or incompetent mods. in other words, mods whom nobody in their right minds should ever have appointed, and mods whose very participation is often the catalyst and the source of bad feelings. at least that's been my experience since '96 or thereabouts. but anyway, what I heard was that the critique club is gonna use a forum for this stuff. that will make it easier to follow the progress of the images IMVHO.

The creation of the Critique Group has made me think about a possible improvement for the galleries.
Now each image has "comments": that is, I can leave one and only one message about it, eventually with a score.
But it would be better if each image could have a real "thread" like those into the forums. This way there would be a "discussion" of the image.
For example:
Me: this is my last image! What do you think?
Visitor: it's good, but you could improve the lights.
Me: thanks! Exactly what do you suggest?
Visitor: I would do them this way.... (etc. etc.)
It should be possible leave just one rating per image, but more than one comment. What do you think?
EDIT: if the "number of comments" as is now is required for internal calculations (charts and so on), it would be sufficient to count "the number of unique participant to the discussion" instead of the "number of replies"
