Hi Swordman, Textures in Carrara from Poser do react a little differently and require some adjustment once in Carrara. So no, you aren't missing anything. First, in the Shader Editor, make sure that the texture map is actually their. If it is, then increase the bump parameter until it shows up as you'd expect. There are several things that may be going on and several ways to fix it so, sorry to be a little foggy in this response. On the bright side, once you have the texture set the way you like it, you can add it to your Browser in Carrara and simply drag it onto the same Poser object the next time you use it and save yourself a ton of time. Hi all,
I Purchased carrara 5 pro from daz when they had their Carrara sale and I have got to say that it is an amazing application, the render engine is supurb, lighting is excellent and things poser sturgges with it renders at light speed by comparison.
My main use for carrara at the moment is importing large scenes from Poser 7, via P6 exe, to re-light and use the superior renderer, however I have noticed that the Bump maps from my poser scenes don't seem to be coming across with the import.
As an example I imported Ratracers, 'Bleak Future' bedroom scene and where the floor and walls should have had raised circles, however in carrara they surfaces are flat.
I was wondering if there is possibly something I am doing wrong or emitting in the import process. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
