I've been footling about with some of Paul's cars.  Changed some of the material zones on the roadster - front foreground, red, but it's taking too long with the incompatability of the latest NVIDIA video card and Wings3D, so I'm leaving playing with the others until I've got more time.

Just wanted to show Paul...

Yeah, it's a shame about the incompati...incompata.....it's a darn shame the dang new NVIDIA card thingie won't work with Wings, lol. Looks good. I'm sure Pauljs would approve.

Gee, I hope so, it'd be awful if he didn't.

Heheh...  Looks cool. Just note that none of the cars had any particular scale in mind when made. (Yeah, I'm guilty of such oversight when making stuff. I really should consider using a reference in the future.)  They might look better in relation to each other if scaled appropriately for an average sized stock dummy in the driver's seat. (Not sure about legroom, but reach distance for steering should be a clue. The ol' roadster looks huge right now, but I think the TerraSpeeder would be the biggest if scaled to a common driver.)

I know that two of the cars have UV's and templates. (Not sure if other textures are included.) That could also be something fun to play with in the future. (Think racing decals or the custom car scene.)

BTW, if you're not heavy into the latest games - some people have had sucess with Wings3D by rolling back to older Nvidia drivers. Might want to try that if it's possible.

Damn!  Deleted my message by mistake!

I was saying... what the heck was I saying???

Um...

To summarise, cannot roll back, nothing to roll back to, new machine, only had latest drivers installed on it, nothing earlier.
Can't install earlier drivers, as although I don't game - my PC mechanic, (husband) does, and he'd probably kill me if I rollocked up the PC.

Anyway, I can still use Wings3D properly on the laptop.

Enjoyed trying out my Bryce mats on the cars, and tweeking them to create new mats (- one of my favourite relaxation type pastimes) mean to do more with the cars, like a scene proper, but need time, no time until after this coming week as Channel 4 visit is this week and need to prepare for that.

Reason Roadster looks bigger is probably because I just imported all the cars into Bryce and then concentrated on the Roadster, no particular reason for that, just liked the shape I guess, I may have sized the cars on import to Bryce... dunno why... oops! but it seems I did, so I'm sorry for that, here's the relative sizes that they turn up with on import: (see image)
The gimpy car looks there, more like an estate car like a... galaxy or sidona, not really high enough for a 4x4.

I would love to be clever enough at modelling cars (or able to do so at all) so that I can model a Kia Sportage... I'd like to have a Kia Sportage XS to use....

Lemme guess, a Kia Sportage is what you drive? lol...

I find one quirk with trying to model real cars though, you really tend to notice when something isn't right. I probably have 3 or 4 variations of a last gen Grand Am because of that.

**pauljs75,
**Er... well.... okay yes.  I drive a Kia Sportage XS, in black cherry.... mmmm, tasty.

It has red flecks in the black paint when the sun shines on it... and if it's clean. (koff)

I managed to create an approximation to the paint, but it's a bit too red as yet, so I'm still perfecting it.  I think subtle car colours are a bit hard in Bryce.
