Well I finally got off my butt and wrote in because I'm having a problem with my new copy of Bryce 6. Yes I FINALLY made the upgrade....

Except I have NO sky presents at all. I've copied my  Sky Presets.bsk file from Bryce 5.0 and put it into my Bryce 6.0 directory but still NOTHING. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this??

Very disapointed so far...  And really confused...

HELP!

Did you download all of the files. One of the content ones, I think, had the skies in it.
Any way. Remove the .bsk from the Bryce6.0 directory.
The skylab is set up now like the other libraries, so you should import them through the skylab.
Go to the screen where the skies should be thumbnailed. Click on the '+' and make a new library. I called mine "Bryce 5.5 skies", but you can call it whatever you like.
Press the 'Import' and navigate to the 'Sky Presets.bsk" file in your Bryce 5.5 directory. Select it and press the 'Open' Button. That should import all of the Bryce skies from your old version into Bryce 6.1

I did exactly that actually and the program crashes...

I'm running a nice system with lots of resources so that shouldn't be an issue. I'll try removing the .bsk file but I am totally baffled.

I do not know about skies, but for the upgrade from version 5 to 6 I copied my user object presets over using windows explorer instead of importing and exporting and it worked.  Altenately you could open up both  preset folders side by side and copy them over.  I need to find my backup with my user materials and copy them over to Bryce 6.1 now as well.

The usual reason B6 crashes when accessing a library is because the presets weren't installed or were installed to a different directory.

Take a look at the library through Windows Explorer. Inside the Presets/Skies folder, there should be an Installed folder and a User folder. In the Installed folder, should be 7 .bsk files: Backdrops, Fantasy-SciFi, Nightime, Starfields, Daytime, Rainbows, Sunrise Sunset. The User folder should have the User.bsk file.

If those files aren't there, then accessing the library will crash Bryce. The same goes for the other libraries.
