I'm going to upgrade my Mac in about a month. I currently use a 2.0Ghz G4 system with 1536 mb ram and a Ati Radeon video card with 128 mb of vram. It runs ok, but I'm getting very tired of the long render times and long preview renders. Could anyone please let me know about what kind of performance you are getting out of the new MacPro systems. I'm looking on getting the dual xeon 2.66, dual core system with a Ati 512 mb video card. It comes stock with 1 GB of ram, would add more when the extra money is available. Just wondering if I would see a huge increase in performance . Anything at all that someone would like to comment on would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think easiest for you is to go to Cornucopia3D into the forum "General". There you will find a sticky thread called benchmark... where people posted their experiences with their computers (and all the same scene). You will see that the Mac Pros are doing not too bad.

I personally have one and am VERY happy with it.
