Subject: Object cloning

I don't know much about Blender and can't figure out how to clone an object. Any help would be appreciated.

It is better to do one thing well, than to do many things and excel at nothing.

shft - d to duplicate,
alt-d to instance (linked duplicate in blender talk).

Thanks. I didn't expect an answer that quick. Perhaps this will finally prompt me to go through the manual. (Which I should've done sooner).
