THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: So, what's your Best?

Dash101 ( ) posted Fri, 01 June 2007 at 11:36 AM · edited Thu, 12 December 2024 at 11:41 AM

Often times, arists take a moment to look back at all the previously created material and examine what they did right, and maybe what they did wrong.

So I thought it would be interesting to allow an opportunity for you folks here at Renderosity to post what you think Your Best Images You've ever created are...

Send us a link to your gallery to an image or a work you think is your finest creation and then tell us why you think that? I'm curious as to how people see their own work... Should be fun!

:)

It's not the most complex one but I think everything is put nicely together and I succeeded to create the atmosphere I wanted:)

Can't choose. Each piece I do is an ongoing effort to better my knowledge & skill.
Some I like more than others, the ones I like the least go in the scrapper for later use or deletion.

hmm...this'll be interesting..I've posted about 600 or so entries since '01..and according to Sturgeon's law, 90% of it is crap..;) I cull anything that doesn't meet the 'floor' on viewers (currently 1 month, and 110 views), so I'll look for awhile. I know one entry that'll go in..it's my best Poser pic done completely in Bryce...back soon..;)

and this is enough..;) I thought it was nice, but evidently someone from the Sci-fi channel liked it enough to ask for it to be used commercially...fell through because Mr. Maya didn't respond...still, my one brush with fame..;)

This has all my own models. (no poser all made in Wings quite a bit of work.

Soem nice stuff. I got together with Danamo on this one and he made two buildings and I made two. ( I wanted to learn how to do decent architecture)

You´re not making it easy are ya...

Hard to choose since i´ve never been 100% satisfied with any image, but the Shangri-La scene came pretty close.
I strived to get a "painted" look with a touch of realism in it, and simultaneosusly wanted to show a grand scale with an interesting pov. Personally i think i nailed it, but that may be up for debate.

It's tough to choose one, but I've always liked this picture. I tried to achieve a place that would hold a sense of wonder if viewed for real.

I have a lot of favorites, and most are non-Bryce, so for this thread in particular, I chose one that was rendered in Bryce, no postwork. The plants are from 3D Plants, but the rest -- from the models done in Amapi to the custom procedural textures -- are all mine.

Dash101 ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2007 at 8:44 AM

Rochr, I have to agree... I think you nailed it!

I think its important to take a look, at least once in a while, at everything thats been done to date and take stock of what's possible. Its a great way to learn and share at the same time.

For the record, here is what I think is my best work:

What an interesting thread.   I wonder if it's possible to create a gallery "Artists Favourites" and we can each add our favourite.

Anyway, it was nice to go through my pictures.   Although I've gone to the darkside that is Carrara, I still think my best work is in Bryce, maybe cause it takes more effort to create the same effects.

This image is one of my favourites and although not my best, marked a pivotal change in the way i thought about Bryce, lighting, textures.

I guess this is the favorite of the couple renders that I've posted in the gallery here.

This one is the best portrait render I think I've done:

Great thread....I think my best work is this one:

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1454667&member

Why?  It has taken everything I have learned in the last 4 months, and compiled it all into a signle image, and even during the contstruction of this peice, I picked up a couple of new techniques.  For me, it pushed the the limits of my current technical abilities in all areas....Modeling, Texturing, Lighting...it pushed me personally in Creativity and Imagination...and with over 4,000 metaballs, and a slew of other standard primitives and appx 40 lights....it also taxed the hell outta my computer!

(now I am going to go look at everyone else's personal favs...because the only way I have been learning, is to study the great works of those that came along wayyyyyyy before me!)

I guess I think in terms of what is my favorite, rather then my best, but they're usually pretty close.

My favorite is "Ohso Chair"

My favorite construction job is- "Golden Great Bridge"
