It's a beautiful promo image...does anyone know what hair this is?

Yeah, it's a photo. I understamd why some merchants do this, it adds realism to their promotion, but I wouldn't use this method as it may mislead some people.
I must say though that
  ExprssnImg's products are good.

Yeah, definitely a cropped photograph transplanted on Miki's head.

I too hate when merchants do stuff like that, especially when they do it to other images other than the lead in image.

A while back I bought a character that came with second skins. All of the images, including all of the ones depicting the second skin showed this great choker/necklace in it. There were no shadows that I could see and it looked like it was part of the second skin.  I thought it was a novel idea to have a second skin that incorporated a jewellery look.  I did read the readme file but it didn't really tell me anything other than what I was seeing in the images "second skins".  So I bought it.  When I went to use I found out that the "necklace" was really a piece of jewellery and not part of the second skin at all.  I was quit pissed about that and thought about asking for a refund. But I kept the package because I liked the morph.

I do feel that images in the second and third pages should not have anything in them that are not part of the package. It's terrible misleading.

I'm tired of having to try and sift through all of the post work and products used in order to find out that what I'm buying consists of a small fraction of what I'm seeing in the images.

I wish Renderosity would come out with some rule about that.

"It is good to see ourselves as others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to say." - Ghandi
