Subject: Advice and market research to be a new vendor

Boni ( ) posted Wed, 06 June 2007 at 2:08 PM · edited Wed, 27 November 2024 at 3:21 AM

I've been a member of this community since it was the PFO, and am finally considering taking the plunge into the marketplace.  Creating clothing and jewelery for the models as well as charcter packages.  I need to ask a few questions. and if ... you can private message me if the questions are too personal I'd be fine with that as well as e-mail me.

Here are the questions.

  1. If you have 3 high quality items in the marketplace ... about how much on average do you make on the items?
    2.  Is making between $600 and $1200 a month in the marketplace unreasonable if you keep 3 or so new items up per month?
  2. How are the payments made by Renderosity?

To make this easier I'm planning first to make jewelery sets for various models.  1. Celtic knot set, necklace, earrings (2 sets), and rings for each finger and 3 toes on each foot as well as 2 braceletts, 2 anklets and armbands, bracers and thigh bands. 2. same but with a Goth theme.  3. same but with a Roman/Greco theme.  So you will know if these will be "wanted" by the community.

I will make a few samples to put up in free stuff to get started.
Any advice is appreciated, even for questions I never asked, since I've never done this before. (Well I did make some textures for some of Koz's hair 4  years ago ;) )

Thank you in advance
Sincerely
~ Boni ~

Its best to contact us privately about stuff like this if interested in becoming a vendor.

Questions 1 and 2 are very hard to answer since it all depends on product quality. marketing, pricing, how the buyers embrace the product, vendor name recognition, etc.,...

In regards to payments.
We pay out the first week of each month for the previous months sales.
We pay by company check or direct to your paypal account in US funds (dollars).
