Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 08 8:41 am)
Just add the Poser6 runtime to Poser7 and you're done
still hooked to real life and enjoying the siesta!

I haven't used Daz Studio for ages, at least since pre-1.0
Poser has been enough for me. Not meaning to start a flame war, but my reasoning is that if I'm confortable with Poser, why look somewhere else?

Note: Do not import Poser 6 stuff in Poser 7, just open. Importing will appear to work but can manifest some odd results, remembering Ziggy's comments on opening week of Poser 7.

I haven't even bothered linking all of my Runtimes yet (just my Apollo and V4 ones :P). So far all I've done is open the files/scenes I've made in Poser 6 using Poser 7. Not had a single problem.
Incidentally, I'm in love with Poser 7! For me it runs smoother and faster; Renders scenes that would normally have died in Poser 6; and the morph brush? LOVE IT!
If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominos will fall like a house of cards...checkmate!
Be aware there is a big caveat: Smooth Polygons doesn't seem to work as one would expect.
I never saw it in P6, it seems to be a new problem. BagginsBill agrees it didn't show up that way in P6.

Hi:
I have what the experts will most likely view as an inane question but here goes:
I have just integrated a new Mac 3ghz dual quad into my animation and video editing suite and as such have begun to use Poser 7 which, by the way, is lightening fast on this machine but was tediously slow and unstable on our G5 which made it necessary to use only Poser 6.
Therefore, my question is, can one use or import Poser 6 created scenes and figures in Poser 7 and if so, are there any pitfalls that should be anticipated?
Thank you in advance,
Ron
