I was just in contact with EF support about a similar problem about lags in selecting, rotating cameras, body parts, props etc and the lag in response by P7 SR2.

LaralynMcW you are not alone! I have this very same problem way back in SR1 and I'm also running Vista. The program hangs most of the time when there's a pop-up window asking you to confirm on saving, overwriting and deleting files, and when I clicked on the button the program freezes and that's it.
Additionally the program also sometimes freezes up during rendering, I thought that might be the problem with object's text and trans mapping and started tweaking around but to no avail, and after installing SR2 the problem is still there!!
I am currently using a Pentium Dual-Core (T2060 CPU) notebook PC with 2 Gb RAM, nVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 graphics chip with 256 Mb shared VRAM.
I get the delete problem. However if you do something first, like rotate a camera for example, then delete works fine. Delete seems to hang if it is the first action at start up.
Also since going to SP2 I get crashes reverting to previous save and sometimes on exiting the app. This makes SP2 seem a bit unstable.
Make sure your partition with the temp folder has lots of uncompressed free space. This has happened to me at times, and disappeared when I changed the temp folder to a partition with lots of free space.
Could be something else though
still hooked to real life and enjoying the siesta!

I just got Poser 7, installed it, and updated to SR 2. I started it up and entered the serial number, and then the main screen opened just fine. I selected the figure that's in the default scene and pressed Delete. The confirmation window came up, and I clicked OK (or Yes, or Accept, or whatever it says), and the application hung up on the "working" cursor. I let it sit for 15 minutes, and it never released from the hang. I ended up force quitting.
I'm running Vista on a very new machine, with new hardware, updated video card drivers, and 4GB of RAM. Anyone else having problems like this? Since I just bought the program, I figured it would be nice to be able to use it. ;-)
Thanks for any hints!
