i was wondering if there are tricks to make the simulation faster?

Lower-resolution cloth meshes.

Lower-resolution collision objects.

Faster processors.

When choosing the "collide against" parts, make sure to just select the parts that will actually be in touch with your clothes. If simulating a shirt, for example, chances are the feet won't touch it. So excluding them from the simulation saves some calculation time.

Avoid "squeezing" the cloth between multiple collision objects wherever possible (e.g. arm pit is usually a problem).

Be sure your document is in Outline mode when you run the sim. This will lower the computational overhead on your processor.
