Does Cheetah 3d support obj files?
You shouldn't use 3ds files when exporting from Poser. 3ds has a limitation of 64kpolygons per mesh, and this can be a problem with Poser files. Additionally, it triangulates the mesh, which is bad.
As a middleware file translation util, you can try Silo2 open beta. It supports both 3ds and obj files.

I'm a Cheetah 3D user and When I import a 3ds file from Poser 7 I get no textures, is there any free 3d software out there that will import the textures? I know Vue 6 PLE will and then export it into Cheetah but the only problem is I'm on dialup and Vue 6 PLE is 300+ mb impossibe to download on dialup. so will any other free 3d softwares do this? Thank you.
