Subject: Not that it matters...dialyn going awol for awhile

I can't read tiny white type, rusty red type, electric blue type on black to grey gradient. It literally vibrates when I look at it, so I am not going to be posting on Renderosity for awhile. Maybe there's a way to change the defaults so I can see what I'm doing but I don't know what it is (maybe midrael will be kind enough to clue me in)  Life is too short to spend it getting a headache trying to read a site, so I'm going to take a vacation away from Renderosity for the time being.

Take care all. Write on. I wish you well.  I hope I can rejoin you one day soon.

Dialyn,

It matters to quite a few I imagine!
I'll look into seeing if there is a way to change the defaults for the appearance of the site now that we've shifted to the new look and I'll let you know as soon as I do!

Say it ain't so!

Don't know if you saw it, or if it helps, but under the Forums button there is a My Forums Option. There is a My Style box in there, that says, "Below you can enter CSS Stylesheet rules to make the forums look like you want them to."  If you're like me, that's of no particular help (as I know nothing about CSS), but maybe one of the mark up gurus can publish the necessary code to to the trick?

Jstro is correct from what I've been able to dig up. Apparently, the only way I've found to modify the way the forum looks is modifying the css code under My Forums Options.

I know a bit about css, so I can probably help you out with this. Namely, this would allow you to change the colors of the site and the text on the site which would probably make it a little less problematic. Just let me know what colors you'd like to see, and I'll send you some test code to try.

FYI I chose white background and black text to make it easier on her eyes, You can see how well that worked. Has anyone ever heard the expression, " if it ain't broke don't fix it! " ?

I appreciate the help but it doesn't solve the whole problem.  My blog, for example, is unusable now (as far as I am concerned) and I don't think there is any way to fix the defaults for that.  It is what it is, and I am sure most people like it.  I know there has been a clamouring for some time for tiny white lettering on black backgrounds, though I've never understood why.

If anyone needs to reach me, I'm email close at dialyn@cox.net .  I am hoping eventually Renderosity will find a way to have alternative default formats like some of the other sites do.  I'm thinking of setting up my website again, and putting some of the resources on it that I have been sharing here.  I'll post the link if anyone has an interest down the road.

In all honesty, I probably need a vacation anyway.
