Excellent Fran, you never know what may come from such a meeting, not saying this will happen to you, but a friend I studied software engineering with landed a £1,500,000 software contract through a similar meeting, without going to the nerd levels, he presented on his final year project and there were some investors there looking at the college. ( Note this was a part time course he was already running a successful software company.)
A month later he goes to a company to pitch for a slice of a software contract and wins the whole thing from one of his college audience!

Hey, on a totally different note, I shook hands with a millionaire the other day - without knowing it until afterwards.
My tutor asked if I'd come and talk to a few people about the sets I'd made for my animation, so I went back to the room where I'd built them, (I'd been editing in the editing suite part of the section).
And I explained about the sets and what I wanted to do in the future etc etc - thought not too much about it as I'd done this a few times before on the regular open days when prospective students and family come for a look around.
One guy hung back, it seemed just to say thanks and shake my hand.
But! My tutor told me later that this bunch were from something called Screen South, and that they had the ability to spend a lot of cash - maybe on us or at least the college's Media section - AND! The guy? he turned out to be Malcolm Cockran who owns a few companies at Pinewood Studios and around the country... Knows people at Disney even...!
And... my tutor told me this bunch were very impressed with Media but especially with me.
Phew!
I don't expect anything will come of this (for me anyway) as my course is almost finished (end of August) but it's nice to be appreciated, and maybe the college will get some better equipment etc...
I just had to tell someone, I'm bursting with it. Makes you feel great.
