Subject: Help with V4.1!

I'm having a problem with V4.1 that's making things a little difficult. After I create a character with her, when I try to Revert or otherwise reload the PZ3 file, I get an error message stating that there was a problem with "processing the binary morph delta data."

The file then loads, but the morphs are somehow distorted or nonexistent (usually the arms and possibly the legs are left completely unmorphed while the torso is morphed at least somewhat according to my original settings).

Also, it seems that if I don't make INJ/REM poses fairly soon after the initial file save, the computer puts bizarre values into the dials that I never put in.

Can anyone please help me figure out what the bleep is going on? I'm using Poser 6, and I'm not using any custom morphs.

This has been an issue with V4 since she first came out.  The fix is to not use External Binary Morph Targets.

To disable this option go to the Edit/General Preferences/Misc Tab and uncheck Use File Compression and Use External Binary Morph Targets.

Once you do that, if you have your character loaded, you can delete the character entry and resave with the proper settings.

I have a simular problem that in when I try to reload a character I have saved I get a message telling me the executable has stopped working. I presume this is down to vista more than anything else. Would your resolution work for this too?

I have some experience with V4.1 saved to scenes.  Seems that some morphs are being written as gibberish.  Poser 7's PMD can't seem to cope with this but it does work if using internal morphs despite the gibberish (you'll lose these morphs) - shows different code is reading internal and external morphs.

This is a Poser7-V4.1 issue and really needs to be resolved by DAZ, eventually we hope.  In my plugin, I've added a sort of 'gibberish detector' for the morph deltas to stop crashes with V4.1 scene importation. :)

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.
