Subject: Poser figure not showing in Vue

sirenia ( ) posted Sun, 05 August 2007 at 5:55 AM · edited Sat, 11 January 2025 at 6:46 AM

Hi all, Yesterday i downloaded the 'Reflecting Floor Mirror - By Stegy' which you can find in the freestuff here, and created a little scene with it in Poser. Today i loaded (imported) this scene in Vue and all is showing except the mirror... Can it be that the item is somehowe 'locked' inside Poser in a way that it does not show up in Vue ? I have Poser 6 (sr3) and Vue 6.00-04 inf (build 288741) Thanks Wim

First off, your Vue build isn't current!

Second, try this, it works for some but not for others!  Run the uncompress script inside Poser and tick the 2 boxes as well, then open your pz3 and resave it after running the script, then try the import into vue again, this method works for me when a Poser import doesn't come in but I know others that it doesn't, it's worth a try!!

Hi fixer :-) Yes i know it's not the current build, but that's just me and my utter laziness LOL !! When i look at the script in Poser however, the second box says : Delete original files after uncompressing. What will happen exactly here ?

The only thing that will happen is that any file with an extension ending in "z" (the compressed files) will be uncompressed into native poser form and the compressed files will be deleted.

I do this when I first upgrade because so many applications that I work in won't read the compressed files.  You won't lose anything because the compressed files are either on your installation disk or in your installation download.

As Victoria says, it just delets the obz files, these are the compressed versions, you don't need them. The script will uncompress them and make a proper obj from them, the obz are then safely deleted!
Vue sometimes doesn't seem to like the obz version!!

Ok, so the problem was my version of Vue. I downloaded and installed (finally after all this time) the final release of Vue and upgraded all the way up to version 6.5. Loads in fine now as supposed to 😊
