Anybody ever seen one of these before, I wonder if this would work with Bryce. Looks pretty cool, says it can replace a mouse for working with 3D graphics or image editing software. This link is a 6 min demonstration with the device being used within Blender.

It looks like a tool for navigation to work in conjunction with the mouse, notice in the video he still uses the Mouse and Keyboard when he started modeling that cube thing and only uses this to navigate around.

Bryce isnt in the supported applications list so I suggest you inquire about it at 3Dconnexion if you're interested in buying it. looks pretty cool btw

It seems to be an add device to navigate in 3D...  but not as interactive as the mouse and key board...   question is:  Does it work in games???

Im not sure about the license,... you can't use the PE version for commercial work after 30 days?,... only the SE version for $100(approx usd), which I thought was weird because its a mouse. I checked, and it doesn't look like you can program buttons for specific applications like Bryce either(correct if wrong).  It would be nice to navigate around a 3D app like that. I almost bought one too.

3D mice were hot items off and on over the years. Do a google search for 3D mouse. They are someone popular with some CAD shops.

I'm trying to figure out how different it is from a joystick with twist for yaw and an analog hat-switch. Other than the form factor that is... 

I don't think it would be hard to make software to do practically the same thing with one of those.

Hmmm...  I wonder if there's a way to get usb joystick potentiometer values through python...
