Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 15 4:06 am)
Hiya,
So you have downloaded and unpacked and installed all the zips needed from the Apollo website?? There are 7 packs (part 4 is MIA still). Within all those packs are the texture files needed to make him look human and not like a plastic maniquine.
Are you using Poser or DAZ Studio??

Raensleyar,
Apollo's textures are kinda "hidden" - dont look for them in the pose library - try the materials library instead. Took me forever to figure that one out (i dont usually use the material room to apply skins).
And its easy - just make sure you have apollo selected, go to the materials lab, browse til you find the textures, and click - one click applies the textures to the entire body (unless its a beard, say, then it just deals with the face)
Good luck =D

Apollo can be as real as the time you put into him (same as all). Then again,, you may get lucky and nail a beauty. It's kinda like golf...;) Attached render used a skin by Syyd(Talus is product name). The "shader" is just as important. Apollo by face_off,,http://www.runtimedna.com/mod/bcs/index.php?vendor=Syyd

Uh ... that was just a "Test"? Holy Cow Richardson! Not only inspirational but intimidating to boot. Very impressive work. I especially like the "oh, just something I threw together" comment. grin
Honestly, I'm amazed that such a quality product like Apollo is available for free and artists such as yourself use him with such amazing skill!
Also - a question ... I noticed that for some of the Apollo products available, it says "Works only in Poser 6" ... if I have Poser 7, should these still work. My understanding is that there is not a substantial difference between 6 and 7. I am particularly asking about Face-off's realism kit and Talus.

If you like apollo, you'll like this guy. I think he's got product in the downloads. Not sure. The "threw it together" thing was true. Sometimes, if you save the things that work (lightsets, sunglasses after you spend hours on them, etc) to your library, you can "get there" pretty fast the next time.
Apollo has a lot of history behind him. It's great to get him free, now. It doen't happen too often. The time it takes to make a figure... groan
Edit to add,,, the py script should not be an issue. People here can talk you through it if there is one but, it's usually a location issue. I do NOT use P7, though.
Between Apollo's eyes is an very cool object called the "Line of Sight Tool". Select ti and move it and wherever it goes, Apollo's eyes will follow.
Start by moving it away from his head then up down or side to side to play.

Okay this question will likely display my complete ignorance and stupidity, but I can't figure something out regarding Apollo.
I've played around with him and he is an awesome character, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to make his face less of a mannekin ... some sort of texture to it with stubble and eyebrows or something.
Am I missing something. I have downloaded all the available files from the website and everything appears to be in Poser as I can play around with quite a bit. I just can't seem to find anything regarding giving him "skin" as is were. Is this an add-on I should be looking to purchase. If so which one and where?
I have read the Read Me file for AM, and it appears to refer to textures in the material room. Is there an easier way or do I need to put Apollo away for a while until I get more experience?!
Thanks for your help in advance.
