Try pulling up the Task Manager(Control +Alt +Delete), go to the Processes tab, click on Bryce.exe, then right click and choose Set Priority and choose Above normal or High, you will get a dialog box asking if you are sure you want to do this, click yes, then try saving the file. Try "Above normal" setting first,................it is important not to have any other apps open or running when you do this as your machine may freeze. I have used this method with good results most of the time. If the file saves properly, close the Task Manager when you are finished (this will reset the priority to normal). Hope this works. As I said, it has worked for me. Oh yeah,.....do not minimize the Task Manager, this will reset the priority to Normal. Instead, on the Task Manager go to the Options pull down at the top and uncheck "Always on top" before you start this process.

running into the same thing, thought not as much in Bryce. Another thing is all those silly things that want to run from the system tray. I wind up turning them off as well (do you need Quicktime running all the time?..;)
also might look at whether you're using complex mats, volumetric especially, which can put a hurtin' on your memory, etc. Seen that happen (but I tend to change a lot of them to World cubic, expecially for fine detail, etc)

Hi guys, I had a good look at what is going on here. The basic scene is a boathouse and jetty with sky and water only it comes in at 81235 polys and 4.27MB, add 2 Vickies a speedboat and 3 radial lights the file jumps to 589320 polys and 210MB. I,m wondering if I should do 2 separate scenes and then try merging just before rendering, or going back to B5 which never gave me this problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this or a good work around. Lost about 3 hours work because the file would not save due to the Out of memory error. Have B6.1, XP Pro, 2gig Ram, 320 gig partitioned HD, Virtual memory on Drive C is 4092mb.
