Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 11 9:00 am)
with poser 6 you definately needed SP2 at least to even get the program working at all, it was very unstable in my opinion until that update, so am quite amazed that you even used the program without an update, the updates in general are fixes for stuff that doesn't work so you need them because they released the software before it was stable, and then after the customers have tested it for them for a while, then they set about making it work!!
i never installed SP3 because SP2 was working perfectly for me, but now i have a 64 bit machine, some stuff in P6 isn't liking the open GL preview so has to be swithed to SreeD mode, so i may try SP3 to see if that fixes that for me.
Both Vue Inf and Poser have always benefited from the updates really.i think in general most software benefits from the updates they release, so if you have a problem with some software go look if there is an update, and it will most likely turn out to be addressing the problem you are having.

**Hi
Thought I would just share this.
I don't usually download updates (apart from Windows stuff) - but I just downloaded the Poser 6 update and Poser is now blisteringly fast compared to before.
I can now also render at a higher quality/more textures etc. Wish I had done this months ago. I've re-discovered all the light sets I've got but never use as often as I would like because doing test renders was so time consuming.
Didn't think this would make such a difference! Recommended!!
Any comments on why this is would be interesting.
