sandmarine asked a question in Python Scripts
I is there a way for a (e.g), load a M3, then load 7 conforming figures (an armor), then run a python script that will conform all of the loaded conforming figures to Figure 1 with just one click?? (otherwise, the normal method is, obviously, clicking on each conforming item then apply "conform to figure" command).
nruddock answered him with a really good script

it is going to save a lot of time

Thanks for the link! It should save a whole lot of time because conforming multiple items can be really tedious.

It will come in hand too for people like myself who load up a figure with a bunch of clothing and then go item by item analyzing them with Wardrobe Wizard..

semidieu had a very similar Python script as a weekly freebie in the RDNA newsletter a few weeks ago. When the script ran, it listed all the figures in the currently opened figure library, and had a checkbox list with all the items listed. You selected the items you wanted your figure to wear, and the script loaded and conformed them. It's a very handy script.

*Do you have link to that one, sounds very handy?

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

Unfortunately the newsletter freebie changes every week, and the old newsletter link @ RDNA points to the latest newsletter.
It might be worth asking semidieu in a site mail for it. It was called SWPConformMultiple.zip

I tried that script tonight and I can't get it to work. I tried selecting the clothing and I tried selecting the figure.

I get the following error:

**  File "", line 10
    print "No Figure selected"
                            ^
SyntaxError: invalid synta**

I have sent a PM to semidieu to see if I can still get the one that was offered in the RDNA newsletter which I missed.

Darn I amaze myself sometimes!

I found the newsletter that the script was in. It's by Dave71 and it's for Poser 7, but I'm going to try it in Poser 6.

If anyone missed one of their newsletters, they have an archive complete with links to the freebies that were offered with each.

Actually, the readme says the script will work in Poser 6 too. But I can't get it to work for me. I posted about the problem over at RDNA. So if anyone is interested in this script for Poser 6 and can't get it to work, follow the link for an eventual answer.

About the script from nruddock:
I have it and it's very useful! It was part of the AS Xenon product to help conforming all the different parts of the outfit.

edit:

I just checked and it's exactly the same script (as the copyright asked). So it should work. The one i have is located in the main Runtime:
RuntimePythonposerScriptsScriptsMenu

Was it at the same location when you tried it?

You are referring to "nruddock's" script?

I have poser 6 so I put the script into my "poserscripts" folder.  The "ScriptsMenu" seems to be something for Poser 7 because there is no such folder in my PoserScripts folder by that name.

Dave71's script from the RDNA newsletter is also for Poser 7 and it had a set path which included a "ScriptsMenu" folder which I left in place for that script. But his script has the extension of .pyc and doesn't work in Poser 6 despite the readme saying it will.

I'll try nruddock's script again but this time I'll create a folder called "ScriptsMenu" and put it in there.

Thanks for the tip :)

Strange because i'm on Poser6. And in the ScriptsMenu are PhilC script for WW and face_off Realism Kits.

I don't know why you have a "ScriptsMenu" for Poser 6. From what I understand that is a new folder generated for Poser 7 so that you don't have to manually add the button to the Python Menu Window.  For Poser 6 you have to manually add the script to reveal a button in that Menu Window inside Poser.

Here is a screenshot of my Poser 6 Python/PoserScripts folder.  And the path to my WW script. I installed it according to the instructions when I first bought it.

":Runtime:Python:PoserScripts:PhilC:Wardrobe Wizard:Wardrobe Wizard Menu.py", "Wardrobe Wizard")

Do you have WW2? If so that might be why you have a "ScriptsMenu" and I don't.   I only have the first version of WW.

I just tried adding it to the path that you suggested      RuntimePythonposerScriptsScriptsMenu
and this is the error I get:

**  File "", line 10
    print "No Figure selected"
                            ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
**
Here is my new path to nruddock's script:

":Runtime:Python:PoserScripts:ScriptsMenu:conform_all.py", "Conform All")

Here is my folder.

But i just saw you have these lines:

**  File "", line 10
    print "**No Figure selected"
                            ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

When using this script, you have to select the figure who will wear the cloth first, then run the script. The error comes perhaps from there?

edit:

Yes i have WW2, it's the PhilC folder in the SciptsMenu one ^^

You'll need to edit the script and make sure that you press return at the end of the last line (leaving the cursor on a blank line with nothing on it).

This is the most annoying gremlin in the Python parser, and usually manifests itself when copying and pasting a script.

Alternatively, go back to the original thread, a downloadable version was attached a week or so after the "cut & paste" one.

Thanks :) I went and downloaded the newer one and saved it to my "poserScripts" folder and it works like a charm now. Thanks for this great script!

I also heard from semidieu at RDNA.  He compiled a new script that will work with both Poser 6 and Poser 7.  It can be downloaded in this thread:

http://www.runtimedna.com/mod/forum/messages.php?forum_id=1&ShowMessage=350519

This is going to save so much time and many clicks of the mouse. One script conforms all, and the other allows pick and choose if you have some figures that need to be parented and not conformed.  The best of both worlds :)
