Hello all, 
I was just hoping someone could give me a brief overview of how to add DOF to an image....

If you mean Depth Of Field, you can do that in many ways.

Directly in Vue, you can add some blur to the camera. That will make a Cross appear in the line of sight of your camera, in the top view. The cross shows the area where your image will be sharp. Anything before or after that point will have some blur.

By changing values for the blur and the aperture of the camera, you will be able to move the cross forward or backward.

Be aware that DOF in Vue is very clostly.

I much prefer the postwork method, either using the z-depth map in photoshop with gaussian blur or using the excellent plugin DOF Pro (a must have if you are using photoshop)

This image was done in Vue using Vue's DOF, there's a brief explanation of settings in my write up! Took just over an hour and a half at "broadcast" settings.
