pixelation suggests you might need a higher resolution rather then a higher bit-depth?
I dont know about the banding.. do u have a render and an example of the texture to illustrate what happens?

Hi
I'm trying to create a shiny and smooth looking reflective amorphous surface.
Some of the DTE textures in the Bump channel look very soft, smooth and organic,
but when I try my own images (Photoshop based, Hi Res, 8-bit Grayscale or 24-bit RGB
Gaussian Blurred TIFFs) in the Bump channel, I get PIXELIZATION and BANDING!
Pict Interpolation doesn't help.
I tried 16 and 32 bits per channel modes in Photoshop but couldn't make Bryce
"understand" these modes.
So how can I get SMOOTH image-based results in BRYCE?
Thanks for your help!
