Subject: Hello - back again, but with a question....

Hi Everyone

You may/or may not remember me - though my last visit to Rosity was around Christmastime.  I have had a turbulent year - my dear husband died in May and so I have been picking up several pieces of my life.  Don't worry - I shall be OK - eventually.  As a form of therapy I've been writing and making music videos.  However, now, I want to re-enter Poser world!

I have both Poser 6 and 7.  I also have a new PC with Vista.  At the moment Poser isn't installed - how do Poser and Vista coexist?  Are there any major problems?  I like my new machine - it's fast, has plenty of RAM and loads of HD space.  However, I do still have my smaller, older, slower XP machine which just about manages!  Enough of my ramblings.  I just wanted to say 'Hi' after all this time.

Hi - thanks for your condolences.  The music vids are purely fanvids - clips of films sent to favourite pieces of music.  The link's in my signature 😄

As it's late-ish here (around 21.30 UK time) I'll get round to installing Poser 7 and all the runtimes etc I have saved on disk tomorrow; then perhaps I'll have a play around.

Welcom back, barrowlass.  Very sorry for your loss.

Can't help with any advice regarding Vista; I still use XP.  I know there are several Vista & Poser users here, though.  I'm certain they'll all pitch in with help and advice.

Vista's a bit more paranoid about software (at least from what training I've had...;), you may get numerous "I don't recognize this...are you SURE you want to install this?" messages. E Frontier might be a good place to check; either by their web site, or on the phone (web site's cheaper...I found out that UK doesn't 'do' 800 numbers...;)

I remember the sig, and vaguely the name...welcome back.

Cheers guys!  As I say, it's getting late here - eyes are dropping a bit - will play tomorrow - at the very worst, I can set a restore point before installing Poser and return to my previous state!

Oh my, welcome back.  Not much has changed since you have been here, but some amazing works.  So sorry to hear of your loss though. I am sure you will do just fine and can't wait to start to see you creating again.  Sharen

If you need assistance there is help also on E-Frontier with Vista.  I actually have tested Poser with Vista 7, and have actually not had the issues others have had.  I think you will do fine.

Hi Sheila, welcome back.

I was only thinking about you (amongst others) the other day as I was looking through my fav artists list and wondering where so many of them had gone. It is really good to know you are still about, I look foreward to seeing your work again very soon.

I am really sorry to hear about the passing of your husband.

Sorry I can't help with the Vista/Poser thing I am still an old XPpro, I have heard far to many horror stories about Vista over the past few month to put me off using it for at least the next decade or so, they should have had enough time to get it sorted by then LOL.

Anyway, starting to ramble now so, I will just wish you well and welcome you once again back into the fould, ((((RUN!!, RUN!! Get away while you still can!!!!! You mad, mad woman!!!!..... )))) LOL

Take Care
Steve

Hi Pat - I'm ticking over ...... sort of.  Deep into music at the moment - Indian fusion/bhangra - working out a music type video as well as playing with Poser.  It's all therapy and takes my mind from my dark thoughts for a while.  Still whipping my runtimes into order - debating whether to have separate ones for each character - as I did in P5/P6 or just have one located in P7 ........ decisions, decisions.  Hope all's well with you!

Everything's  going good,  thanks for asking.  I'm glad you're making a go of things.  Do you have a website where we could see some of your work?

As for the runtimes,  one for each character sounds great.  What about the props though?

barrowlass ( ) posted Mon, 12 November 2007 at 8:55 AM

Hi Pat - haven't faffed round with props yet - didn't reinstall P7 till Sunday (I have a new machine).  The only work on show is my gallery (link in signature) and the vids are merely fanvids - link also in my signature - they'll give you a laugh if nothing else.

You're gallery is outstanding!  I really like " Where the hell have you been."  Would you mind if I added you to my favorites?

BTW Have you done any new textures?

barrowlass ( ) posted Mon, 12 November 2007 at 10:55 AM

Hi Pat - I'm honoured for you to add me to your favourites.  As for new textures - those I've done so far are in my freebies - four for V3 only.  As I say, I'm only just getting up and running again.  Bereavement does strange things - all other activities pale into insignificance - but now - I shall probably pick up the reins again!
