In the depths of the dark forest, in a shadow haunted clearing, stand the dark ruins of an ancient place. Temple to Gods of darkness or simply the long lost folly of some king of old. None know what this place is, only that its shattered walls gleam in the night like broken teeth, a forbidding sense of evil seeping through the forest from the gaping maw of the clearing.

No bird alights on the dead branches that twine through the stonework, never a breeze flutters the rotting foliage, nor a solitary animal touch the water that has gathered in the ruined floor, settling between the great stone slabs like black poison.
