Subject: Transfer figure settings to a magnet?

beos53 ( ) posted Tue, 13 November 2007 at 2:28 PM · edited Fri, 09 August 2024 at 10:47 PM

I created a dress with PhilC clothing, then created a magnet to deform the chest area to get rid of the gap between the breast. everything was going fine...
created a new prop and saved it...started to save the mag. and Poser shut down.
I lost the magnet I had made!
It took a while to create the mag ( I am not very good at them)

Is there any way to transfer any setting from the prop I made to a new magnet?

I read something about changing the material zone into a magnetic zone (I don't remember whereI read it)...is this the same thing that I am asking?

Hi beos53,

The short answer to your question is ...... No, but you CAN ... try this ...

After deforming the object with a magnet ...

  1. Select the (deformed) object or body part

2.Use the [menu] "Object" >>> **"Spawn Morph Target"
... (Note - To use the Morph Target (MT) - Do tthe following AFTER you have done Step #3 below )
... (locate the "Morph" on the object's (or body part's) parameter dials and)
... (change it to 1.000 to recreate the original effect that you had with the magnet)

**3. Select (any part of) the magnet and delete it

  1. (re)Save the Figure (or object) and INCLUDE *Morph Targets
  • And that's all there is to it.

Grasping at straws try looking in:-

C:Documents and SettingsAdministratorLocal SettingsTempPoser 7PoserUndoCache

and copy out all the files into a temporary Poser library folder. CR2's to figures, PP2's to props.

Then load each one into Poser and see if the 3D gods are smiling on you.

Good luck.

Quote: "4. (re)Save the Figure (or object) and INCLUDE Morph Targets"

Is this somthing new in P7? In other versions of Poser 'Include morph channels..." is only an option when saving a pose, figures automaticly include morph targets when saved.

Hi les,

Yes, I stand corrected and your statements in the above post are correct.

My apologies and ... Thanks for pointing that out.

Forgive me, it must be the Oldtimers disease setting in ..... again.
