Hi gang, Sooooo.... i'm still using Poser 6 on Mac OS X 10.4.9 here, and i have three questions that i would like to find out please : 1: For us Mac users, Is Poser 7 'really' that much faster in handling things (performance speed) as Poser 6 ? 2: Does the morph tool work on 'all' figures you load in Poser (e.g. Aiko, Mil Teens, etc) or does it just work with the standard figures such as James, Jessi, Sydney, Simon etc.. ? 3: Does Vue have a problem with Poser 7 or are they working happily together ? Thanks Wim

Hey Wim ... hou lekker je P6 ;}

I have P7 but it was a bit of a waist for my money..
You might wait what happens to Poser now its sold AGAIN ...
P7 pro is comming and might give you a better value for money
OR Poser might fall in price fast ..
Keep you euros in the pocket and wait ..

The only question I can answer is that the Morph tool will work on anything loaded into P7, not just characters.

Poser 7 scenes will import in Vue 6, but not in Vue 5.
Poser 7 can handle bigger scenes than P6, both in preview (which I use, I always render complicated scenes in Vue 6 Infinite 64 bit) and for rendering
Poser 7 can make use of dual/quad core processors - which speeds up rendering quite a bit.
Poser 7 is much easier to use with multipe runtimes.

The render engine itself has been improved a little bit. Still slow, compared to Carrara, Vue, Cinema4D etc etc. Still excruciatingly slow when rendering volumetrics or using raytraced reflections/refractions. Image based lighting has been improved, but nowhere near the level of Vue/Carrara/ C4D.

You can add your own cameras in P7 - can be handy.
There's multiple undo.
You can fix pokethrough using the morph brush - which is quite different from, and far more useful than the P5/6 morph putty tool.

And - P7 can use up to 4 GB of address space (P6 up to 2 GB). Or, if you're running under Windows 32 bit, up to 3 GB.
That, plus the option to render in a separate process, enables P7 to render larger scenes that consume more memory.

I went from Poser 5 to Poser 7 . I personally wouldnt bother upgrading from 6 unless there is a feature you feel you really need  and NOW.

Well, after some thoughts and reading here, i'm still gonna wait a bit before upgrading to 7 because i do not really need some of the new options. Thanks all Wim
