Subject: OT I'm dictating to the computer!

Lyne ( ) posted Wed, 28 November 2007 at 12:24 AM · edited Sun, 19 January 2025 at 5:01 AM

I am so excited!  I had to tell somebody- well, everybody- that I and dictating to the computer in this field simply with Microsoft Windows 32 bit Vista!  I'm in shock!  I was getting ready to be forced to upgrade my dragon naturally speaking 8 two version nine sell it would be compatible with Vista.  I was also getting ready to try to find another USB microphone/headset but I decided to try my ordinary lab tech headset with this software that is built into windows and it worked!

I'm comfortable with speech to text software, because I had used dragon speak for a few years and I can tell that this speech software is very similar and is a obviously working extremely well with even less training and without my special USB analog to digital translator headset (that is not compatible for some reason-it even says that on their website-with vista).  I think I just saved about $250 at least!

I am also thrilled to see that it works here at Rendosity!  I am now going to try to use the commands to copy and paste these words into another forum-The Community one.. .

Happy smiles!

Lyne

LMAO!

Lyne that sounds wonderful.  I don't need voice recognition software, but I'm a motor mouth ... or have motor fingers,  and sure wish that I had software where I could just talk and have what I said transferred to the computer. Once I'm back to work I'll look into it.

Congrats, Lyne :o) I tried Dragon years and years ago. You should have seen it try to recognize danish, it was a hoot GG (and yes I know it wasn't meant to either but it was so much fun!)

~Pakled... Holographic characters asking for the Arch makes me twitch... I wonder why...

~Ziggie... hugs  I've missed you!  Any news about S&S?

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
