Subject: Is there an update/alternative to MAT Pose Edit?

barrowlass ( ) posted Thu, 29 November 2007 at 5:18 AM · edited Wed, 11 December 2024 at 12:30 PM

For my V3 freebies I used MAT Pose Edit to create the packs.  As far as I can see, it hasn't been upgraded to take into account V4 (I'm trying ........ yes, very!).

Is there an alternative program I can use, preferably one that's reasonably idiot-proof?

Thanx

Sheila

Attached Link: Quickmat

Quickmat........it says,  Hogsoft QuickMAT enables you to save MAT poses **directly from the Poser scene**. With QuickMAT, gone are the days of laboriously browsing for files and manually converting thumbnails. Instead, QuickMAT will make the MAT you want, together with rsr and png thumbnails, in a couple of clicks........It doesn't say if it works with P6 or 7 but it does as i use it all the time.........Steve

barrowlass, I've used QuickMat for three years and it works just fine on V4.  It also creates the png files and rsr files for you so you don't have to go back and create them.

It's easy to use and the support forums on his site are excellent.

You'll enjoy the program.

Another alternative is to do it by yourself because MAT Poses are really easy to edit ^^

MAT Pose Edit works very well for V4 as well as for any other figure that doesn't have "templates" included in MPE - just load the .cr2, add your textures as usual and save as .pz2. No pay-for apps required.

vince for props you need actor rather than prop

ie.
{
version
{
number 4.01
}
prop vb bracelet 1:5
{

should read...

{
version
{
number 4.01
}
actor vb bracelet 1:5
{

The difference between it working & not working LOL

figure is for figures, but actor is for props.

Using the term prop will not work, at least it doesn't for me, I have always used actor, because that is what the MAT poses for props that I have, use.

I didn't know that.
But each time i made a MAT pose for prop using 'prop' they worked... I guess it has to do with parenting and all.

have just gone through this forum, but can't find what I'm looking for. I want to make some 'freebies' for Renderosity. These are 'mats' for some of the clothing. The problem being, I have a mac., using poser 6 and can't seem to find how to make a file or zip and then how to upload. I'm hoping that someone here can help .... either pointing me to the right tut.. or 'walking me through' the first one. As I'm on limited downloads, I can't surf everything, and would really appreciate someone helping me.

You need a V4 config file. Here's one I created earlier! (Take the .txt extension off so the filename reads Victoria4.cfg). Put it in the Templates directory of your Mat Pose Edit application directory.
