Subject: Looking for a detailed ship deck

sturkwurk ( ) posted Mon, 03 December 2007 at 6:57 PM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 4:37 PM

I can't tell by the promo pics of Faveral's great work - any idea what would be a good file for a detailed Ship Deck - specifically the area around the (for lack of a better word) the Steering Wheel.  I need to make an image that has a good clear area around the wheel, not with some structure impeding directly on it. Maybe with a good 7" clear behind it would be ideal.   Does not have to be a free file - just wondering if anybody knows of and can point me at a good one.

I do already own the Warrok Kitt - but the area around the wheel is impeeded.

Thanks!
Doug

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

I know Poserworld has a ship deck, but I don't know if it includes the helm area.

This is very nice.
Just out of curiosity, what program are you modeling it in?

Cinema 4D, haven't gotten round to texturing yet though, I am still only just learning.

well, you're doing pretty well for someone who's just learning. I have no experience with c4d so I have no idea how hard it is to learn (I do all my modeling in either 3dsMax, Lightwave or Rhino)

Compared to 3DsMax C4d is a piece of cake (I tried 3Ds a few years ago when I went to collage, just couldn't get on with it at all).

Doug- Take a look at my product images for the Medusa Crew Action at: http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=50529&vendor=158 Faveral's Medusa is a great ship and scaled just right for Poser people. The Medusa has a working tiller rather than a ship's wheel. There was not really a lot of room around the steering area on most old wooden sailig ships. -Don

Thanks guys - Faveral had a great idea too - to just add his naval bric a brac to an existing ship deck!   awesome ship deck so far MegaJax!
